DREAM/AWAKE, a new play by J. Peter Bergman

Directed by Monica Bliss with J. Peter Bergman

A plausible take on life.

Gwynned Vaughan (45-50) - a man in his late forties. He is a man of facts and figures, an investment broker, a partner in a company that works directly with clients to grow their money; he is good at it and can work from home if he prefers. He suffers from lingering dreams.

Constance Vaughan (40-55) - his wife, mid-forties, pretty, alert, not submissive to his whims. She has a great sense of loyalty and strength, as her name infers, and she resents being taken for granted.

Dr. Daniel Dravis (38 to 52) - a psychiatrist. Fifty years old, single, handsome and personable.

Faith (40-55) - a different version of Constance, played by the same actress

Miranda (35-55) - a woman in Gwynned’s dreams.

Cherí (25-30) - a woman who dances in Gwynned’s dreams. She is young, pretty, lithe.

Boy (17-30) - a younger man who dances with Cherí. He might be a young version of Gwynned.

There will be six performances of “DREAM/AWAKE” over two weekends at the Whitney Center for the Arts in Downtown Pittsfield, November 8th through November 17th. This play will rehearse daytime hours.  A small stipend will be paid to the actors. Please direct questions to director, Monica Bliss by email at monica@thewhit.org.
