The Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield, MA is pleased to welcome Ricky Darell Barton to its Colt Gallery for an exhibit of his work entitled “Robot Paintings.” The Whit will host a reception with the artist during Pittsfield’s First Fridays Artswalk on November 1, 5-8PM.

Ricky Darell Barton was born and raised in northern Virginia. After high school, he attended Northern Virginia Community College, studying Fine Art. He then attended The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Georgetown for two years. Beyond that he furthered his painting study by attending The Corcoran School of Art part-time ,and also worked full time at The Phillips Collection Art Museum as a Museum Assistant for 6 years. He has participated in the Washington, DC art scene for 25 years, showing his paintings in art galleries, fairs, and pop-up galleries. He recently relocated to the Berkshires, and has shown his work many times in the two years that he has been here. He is a full time studio artist in Cheshire, MA, and he looks forward to many more opportunities to share his work in the future.

Barton’s show will continue through November, and may be seen during gallery hours, during performances, and by appointment.
